Is a self-help program that provides education and support to people with a mental illness
Taught by people who have first-hand experience living with a mental illness and have graduated from a BRIDGES training program
BRIDGES PROGRAM
Bridges: 10 week course
Footsteps: 5 workshops in patient program
Support Group-Meets every 2nd week
The BRIDGES course is a 10 week course based on two principles: learning about facts, and learning about feelings. The goal is to empower student to take an active role in their treatment and recovery. Classes include discussions and exercises to help students apply the information.
BRIDGES FOOTSTEPS
For inpatient and residential setting such as hospitals, residential treatment centers and jails
Individual sessions can also be offered as stand-alone workshops
Has been offered successfully multiple times at UBC Hospital’s Detwiller Pavillion
BRIDGES Course starts Saturday, Jan.16/10 – Mar.20/10 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:30p.m.
We meet once per week for 10 weeks
Location : George Pearson Centre, Classrooms 1 & 2
