A+ Computer Technician Program (ACT)
The A+ Computer Technician (ACT) program is a free 52 weeks program that prepares people who have only basic computer skills in becoming skilled and knowledgeable enough to write the Comptia A+ certification exam. This certification is a vendor neutral industry recognized certification that never expires. See http://certification.comptia.org/a/default.aspx.
Many of our participants have no intentions of ever writing the certification exam or even working in the field.
ACT will cover the cost of the Comptia A+ certification exam for regular participants who are ready to sit for it.
Participants whose ambition is to work in the computer field would be linked with a PACT employment counselor to develop an individualized action plan towards securing a job placement.
ACT classes run 1:30 to 3:30 Wednesdays at the Coast Clubhouse located at 295 East 11th.
