EDUCATION AND LEISURE FUND

This project provides funding up to $400.00 for mental health consumers for education and leisure courses/activities.  Recipients can take more than one course/activity if the cost is less than $400.00 and must be willing to pay the difference if the cost exceeds $400.00.

Individuals can apply for the fund once every two years. Applicants must be a resident of Vancouver and be receiving mental health services in Vancouver.

The Education and Leisure Fund is open three times a year. Applications are randomly selected on a multiple draw system for three weeks.  It is therefore advantageous to submit your application in time for the first draw in order to optimize your chances of success.

Personal development, life style enhancement, vocational training, education and well-being are key components of recovery.  The goal of this project is to provide opportunities for individuals to take courses they would not otherwise be able to access and to build capacity.

Applications and criteria for the next Education and Leisure fund will be distributed on Monday, January 16, 2012. They will be available at mental health teams, mental health organizations, psychiatric units and on this website. The fund will be open February 6-28, 2012. Deadline for applications is Monday, February 27, 2012.

Draw dates for the Spring fund will be:
Tuesday, February 14, 21 & 28, 2012.
