Reasons for Living Project
Reasons for Living project: Hamilton psychiatrist, Dr. Jennifer Brasch and a colleague have launched a www based research project (www.thereasons.ca) exploring people's reasons for living after having had or having contemplated a suicide attempt. Their feeling is that to truly help suicidal people, the Medical Profession needs to better understand how suicidal people move from wanting to die to wanting to live..
To publicize the Reasons for Living project, a Toronto based journal called Cross Currents www.camh.net/Publications/Cross_Currents/index.html is interested in interviewing people who have attempted suicide and decided to live with interviewees providing the "first voice" reasons as to the importance of the "Reasons to Go on Living" project and what it can teach clinicians.
If you’re interested in doing a brief phone interview, please contact Hema Zbogar, editor of CrossCurrents hema_zbogar@camh.net
Participants for both projects may remain anonymous, of course.
