The BC/Alberta tour of šxʷʔam̓ət (home) is about to launch on January 17th in Chilliwack!

The cast has been busy in rehearsals this last two weeks, and are excited to be embarking on the 20 community tour. Responses from communities have been fantastic – shows are already beginning to sell out, get your tickets soon!

For tickets and information about the tour, visit our tour itinerary page on our website here.

šxʷʔam̓ət (home) will also be back in Vancouver at the Firehall Arts Centre for a final run. Tickets are already on sale at the Firehall website. The show sold out 3 days after opening last March, so we encourage you to purchase tickets before it’s too late…It’s the last chance to see this production!

David Ng and Cindy Charleyboy from our outreach team have been having conversations with community organizers and lots of media People have been interested in how this play asks challenging questions about “Reconciliation”, and how we can make Reconciliation real and meaningful, beyond nice words, proclamations and apologies from the Government. The play asks the “What now?” question, and compels audiences to think about Reconciliation not as a “thing of the past”, but something that permeates many aspects of all of our lives today. How does knowing about the atrocities and injustices towards Indigenous people, addressing issues of consent, land and stewardship to name just a few, compel us to address these issues in our own lives in the present? What behaviour changes need to happen from all of us for Reconciliation to be true and honourable? The play brings these questions to life on the stage and invites audiences to come and rehearse transformational change.

For more information please email David Ng our Outreach Coordinator at outreach@theatreforliving.com or call us at 604.871.0508.
