Renea March 07, 2007 I attended last night info on the PAU at Coast Clubhouse. Diane did an excellent job of relaying the professional point of view as well as answering questions from Family members, housing workers, suicide survivors of a family member lost to suicide and consumers. She has been the director for the last 4 years of PAU and Inpatient wards at VGH. She mentioned that around Canada that everyone from different hospitals wants to image their Psychiatric ward after the PAU Model. We are probable the only place in Canada where the Main person at the helm is Lorna Howes. Diane mentioned that it is great that Lorna has interest not only at the Vancouver Coastal level but also at the level in the hospital. I found it ( as once a revolving door consumer at PAU ) interesting as Diane told her part and I told our parts as a consumer. For me it was informative to be able to attend these workshops.
