How did it make you feel?, Anything that kept you thinking? Not sure what your answers are to those questions but ..aren’t the following 4 sentences worth reflecting on?
1. ” Come now and meet with us. Have a coffee. You’re more than welcome”
2. ” Not all of us are bad people”
3. ” We’re homeless sure but we’re not animals”
4. ” A lot of us are people who are lost”
Here’s an invitation: Let’s play tennis! ( Sundays 1pm at Strathcona Park)
Social distance respected.
Come because you’re curious about what might happen when you get out of your comfort zone and try something new. Come because you’re interested in making a difference in our community. Come because you’ve also felt lost at some point in your life and now feel compelled to connect with others who currently feel the same way. Come for whatever reason you want…but come.
Indifference is the first problem. It’s time for us all to be part of the solution and that’s a process that starts with shifting preconceived ideas about what it means to experience homeless and addiction. Please join us.
“We all owe it to ourselves to be the best citizens we can be”.
