Community Engagement Coordinator 
Full-time 28 hrs/week

Position Summary:
The Canadian Mental Health Association North and West Vancouver Branch (CMHA NWV) is seeking a fulltime Community Engagement Coordinator to join us to support our upcoming project, Recovery College YVR: A Community Wellness Learning Hub, which we are launching in partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health’s Consumer Involvement and Initiatives program and CMHA Vancouver-Fraser Branch. Inclusion and collaboration with local communities is the key to effective program design and the successful implementation and delivery of programming.

The purpose of this role is to facilitate and support the active inclusion of public input to inform research and program design, specifically the co-production of course content. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Community Engagement Coordinator will develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies and plans as well develop and support the execution of a comprehensive environmental scan of population specific mental health/distress needs to inform the co-production of course content.

The Community Engagement Coordinator will have an ongoing role in supporting the research and co-production of new courses. As this is a new position, this role is best suited to someone who is desiring a dynamic role that they can help develop and grow within. Since the job is to engage with community and stakeholders, we require someone who can be flexible with their schedule to be able to access various community groups for their input.

What is a Recovery College?
Recovery Colleges, based on a successful community mental health model from the UK, are focused on personal recovery in mental health and well-being. Recovery Colleges provide an innovative learning space where anyone can access free courses, webinars, workshops, and events to learn, gain new skills, and connect with others in their community. Recovery College YVR will feature both in-person and online service.

Hours of Work and Considerations:

Reports to: Program Manager Hours of Work and Special Considerations: 28 hours per week plus a daily unpaid 30 minute lunch break. Primary work location will be from home and in community with a minimum of one day working at our head office on Lonsdale Avenue in North Vancouver. Frequent in-person meetings and travel as well as some evening and weekend hours required.

Wage $28 – $31/hr  Depending on experience
