New CIF breathe/WRITE Workshop Series for Mental Health Peers
starts on Tuesday, October 30, 4:00pm – 6:00pm
at Gallery Gachet, 88 E. Cordova, Vancouver

Announcing a new Consumer Initiative Fund (CIF) project — breathe/WRITE. This is a free, 12-week relaxing/writing workshop series for peers with self-identified, personal/lived experience of mental illness/mental health issues. Do you want to ‘breathe, write and speak’ yourself and your life? These supportive, fun and active workshops will run in Nov/Dec and Jan/Feb, with public ‘open-mic’ opportunities in Dec and Feb.

The first workshop of breathe/WRITE will be centered on ‘The Heart of the City,’ and we’ll explore what this means to us through relaxation, journaling, reading and writing prompts to get the words flowing. By the end, participants will create a group poem for the Heart of the City Festival, its people and its themes of creativity, community and survival. The series will continue on related themes into the new year.

Supported by the Consumer Initiative Fund of Vancouver Coastal Health’s Mental Health & Addictions Services, with thanks to Gallery Gachet (wheelchair/scooter accessible space).
