Tertiary Mental Health and Addictions is looking for consumers to sit as members on the VCH/PHC Regional Mental Health and Addictions Clinical Practice Council (CPC).
The Clinical Practice Council is made up of tertiary program leaders, regional staff, two family members of people living with mental illness and two consumers.
The purpose of the group is to identify recovery oriented and evidence based practices to be implemented across the Tertiary Mental Health and Addiction programs in order to enhance the quality of services and ensure that practices remain current.
We are currently looking for individuals who have lived experience accessing long-term, facility-based mental health services to fill the consumer positions on this council.
Meetings are held at the Willow Pavilion at VGH on the fourth Tuesday of a month from 1:00-2:30. There will be options for additional involvement in various chosen working groups.
The successful applicant for the contract will meet the following criteria:
> Ability to attend meetings regularly
> Ability to read, learn and absorb relevant information
> Articulate interests, concerns, and perspectives on the issues being
> Participate on working groups established to respond to CPC mandate
> Maintain an open mind regarding other people’s views
> Focus on “the big picture”
> Work as a team member
> Participate collaboratively in group decision-making
The successful applicant will be paid $20 per meeting plus travel expenses.
