The mental health and substance use urgent care and referral centre for Vancouver residents 17 yrs and up. An alternative to the Emergency department and a way to access other VCH mental health and substance use services. Provides intervention to individuals in the community for mental health or emergency situations. Staff respond to calls from police, health care professionals, clients, family members and the general public.
Car 87 can be reached via the Access & Assessment Centre at (604) 675-3700 or via 9-1-1.
Senior Distress Line
Phone: 1-800-784-2433 (1-800-SUICIDE)
Distress Phone Services which provide confidential, non-judgmental, free emotional support, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for people experiencing feelings of distress or despair.
Hours of Service: 12 noon to 1 am everyday.
Online version of the phone service. Chat one on one with a Crisis Line volunteer – for BC and Yukon residents.
