Dinner & Opinions – What do you think of the new VCH Mental Health services?

We will report on the outcomes on Spotlight on Mental Health by March 31, 2016.

We are looking for people who are using, or have used, any  Mental Health and/or Substance Use services offered by Vancouver Coastal Health, as well as family members and supporters  of such persons to join us for a round-table discussion on February 17 at 6pm.

In the spring of this year, VGH will open its Access and Assessment Center.  It is a 24/7 service meant to serve people with mental health or substance use difficulties who require immediate help but not hospitalization.  It will work closely with the VGH Outpatient Team, the Cross Cultural program, SAFER (Suicide Attempt Follow Up Education and Research) and Community Link Program (a program that helps persons with serious mental health issues achieve their goals in leisure, education, work and other areas).  This effort is part of the overall VCH Mental Health and Substance Use redesign.  The center will be located on the VGH campus at 715 West 12th.

The program was designed with the help of family and client input.  Now that the design is almost completed, VGH would like to invite you to see what has been planned so far, and to provide your input in terms of the finishing touches, what we may have overlooked, and what you might want to see added in the future.

Please join us for a round-table discussion with representatives from Vancouver Coastal Health on February 17, 2016 from 6pm to 8pm at the Paetzold Center at  Vancouver General Hospital.  Food will be available.  Please email Isabella Mori at isabella.mori@vch.ca or call her at 604 290-3817 to RSVP.
