Imagining Inclusion: Creating Upstream Change in Community Mental Health is proud to unveil the powerful images from our Photovoice participants at Open Door Group in 2017 and the Northeast Mental Health Team in 2018. We invite you to the following special events to see these powerful images and the themes that emerged through our examination of people with lived experience of mental illness.

Imagining Inclusion
 is a community-based Photovoice research collaboration between Open Door Group, Douglas College, York University and Vancouver Coastal Health. It is funded by the Vancouver Foundation.

The purpose is to study how people with lived experience of mental health issues experience community, inclusion, health and well-being. Participants will display their photos & narratives at the exhibit and will tell their stories in speeches to raise awareness of mental health issues to reduce stigma.

Project EveryBODY’s PEBCelebrates Live! is the premier event in Vancouver to recognize and celebrate the UN Designated International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Presented by a collaboration of community and non-profit organizations who embrace diversity and inclusion, it is a celebration that showcases the talents of people of all abilities and honours the achievements of people with diverse abilities and advocates for thriving communities that are both diverse and inclusive.

PEBCelebrates Live! is proud to feature an Art Show and Sale during the day on December 3rd, while the evening program will include short films, dance, and other exciting live presentations.  This event is family friendly and free to the public, and you will meet local artists whose creative gifts and personal stories will inspire you. Whether it is done through; music, art, performance, comedy or something else, there is something for EveryBODY at PEBCelebrates Live!

Join us as we observe and celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Refreshments will be provided throughout the event, including a craft beer tasting courtesy of Old Abbey Ales (in the evening from 5:30-6:30pm) (
