Me and My Doc Talks

Me and My Doc Talks
Jan 18 2018 12-1 pm

The Me and My Doc Talks series explores examples of psychiatrist and client relationships that are effective, therapeutic and unique.

There is a lot of information publicized about the challenges within Mental Health and Substance Use services.  Here we look at how clients want and need to be treated with care, empathy and as a unique person, not as their diagnosis.

This third talk of the series delves into one client’s experience with ECT, stigma and her relief and joy in finally finding a psychiatrist that has stood by her.  Jody ter Weeme and Dr. Joseph Tham will speak on the importance of “trust, faith and continuity of care” in effective doctor/client relationships.
