The Sharing Experience Learned Firsthand (SELF) project is exploring best practices for disclosure of personal experiences of distress, services use and/or recovery by providers in mental health or addiction services. They are exploring both sharing between colleagues in the workplace, and with those they serve in an effort to clarify the role of lived experience, and to promote more inclusive workplaces.
SELF is seeking “experts by experience” to lend your voice and perspective to this effort. Specifically, we want to hear from those with lived experience who work in mental health or addiction services. We are interested in hearing from both those who choose to disclose their lived experience, and those who do not.
For more information on how to participate, please contact Cassidy “Khaki” Marino at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is a US- based project – Canadians welcome to participate.
If you are an individual with lived experience, please consider taking
fifteen to thirty minutes of your time to take the anonymous survey. The
survey will be available September 3 through September 22nd. Feel free to
share the survey link far and wide.
