New Approaches to Managing Bipolar Disorders

Join us for a lively discussion about new ways of approaching the treatment of bipolar disorder and the importance of peer support.
Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Roger Sparhawk, psychiatrist and author of Calm Seas: Keys to the Successful Treatment of Bipolar Disorder. A graduate of Case Western Reserve University, Dr. Sparhawk has focused his clinical practice on the treatment of bipolar disorder. With over 30 years of experience, he will be speaking to the patterns that he has observed over the course of his career, including mixed episodes, complex cycling, and late-course bipolar disorder.
The conference will include local experts in bipolar disorder, addressing topics such as bipolar disorder in adolescence, Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy, group medical visits, treatment within general practice, self-management strategies, and the Foundation’s unique Friends of Bipolar peer support program. Our speakers include Dr. Chris Gorman, Dr. Cindy Holdsworth, Rosalind Irving (R.C.C), Dr. Erin Michalak, and Dr. Barry Rich.
