Anxiety and stress can negatively affect brain function. We are starting a new 6-week pilot group, Mindful Thinking Strategies, utilizing a mindfulness approach for using cognitive strategies in the community, at the Northeast MH Team. In this group, which is for adults aged 19 to 65 years, and who access Vancouver Community Mental Health and Addiction Services, participants will learn how to use mindfulness with cognitive strategies to improve functioning at home, school, volunteering and work.
The class will run both in the group room at Northeast Mental Health Team, and in the community.
As space is limited, the class will be limited to 12 participants.
