What’s new at thrive in May/June …. (here are some of our newest additional programs)
Implicit Career Search (ICS) workshops are back…. Considering going back to work but not sure doing what or where, ICS helps participants discover their passion and work purpose. This self-discovery program, helps participants gain a deeper understanding of themselves. This program runs 2 x a week for 4 weeks Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:00pm-3:00pm starting May 30th
Exercise on a budget (Home workouts 101) Is the gym not for you? or just too expensive? If so…..This program is what you are looking for to help you keep fit on a BUDGET! Learn how to exercise in the comfort of your own home using various affordable equipment and things you have laying around your home. Starting May 12th Fridays 1:30pm-3:30pm
Food Bank Cooking on a Budget In this program you will learn how to prepare various meals using “common food bank items”. You will be learning how to plan, shop, prepare and cook healthy complete menus and meals on a food bank supply and a tight budget. Participants will also explore and learn about various free/low cost community kitchens and food resources (i.e. for free meals, low cost groceries etc.). Starting May 9th Tuesdays 4:00pm-6:00pm
Digital Photography / Smart Device Photography| This program teaches you how to take artistic photos with digital camera and YOUR PHONE. Participants will learn how to take a variety of great photos. Cameras and smart devices are available. Starting May 11th Thursdays 4:30pm-6:30pm
New YOUTH program: Go Self Discovery (Personality Dimensions) | This is a self-discovery program in which participants will gain a deeper understanding of themselves and others in a positive, interactive, fun way. Through understanding the personality styles of ourselves and others, it helps us to improve communication, teamwork, conflict resolution and self-esteem. Learn your “colours” Tuesdays 3:30pm-5:30pm starting June 6th
New Older Adult program: Golden Creative Arts | This fun interactive class will teach participants a variety of art projects and crafts. Come join to get creative and just have fun. Starting May 10th Wednesdays 1:00pm-3:00pm
