PSR Canada Competency Webinar – March 10, 2014

We are very pleased to announce a webinar opportunity featuring the newly released Canadian Recovery-oriented PSR Competencies.

This webinar is being released across Canada today and we have very few seats. Registration is on a first come first served basis- if you can watch it in groups all the better (registration details in attached poster).

Recovery-Orientated Psychosocial Rehabilitation Competencies of Practice for Canadian Practitioners

Brought to you by Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Réadaptation Psychosociale (RPS) Canada (PSR/RPS Canada) & BC PSR Advanced Practice

This session describes new Canadian Recovery-Orientated Psychosocial Competencies of Practice for Rehabilitation Practitioners developed by PSR/RPS Canada. Following a brief overview of PSR/RPS Canada, the webinar establishes the importance of defining core Competencies in recovery-orientated practice; provides an overview of the development of the Competencies of Practice for Canadian Psychosocial Rehabilitation; introduces the Core competencies; finally, suggestions on how to implement the competencies are offered followed by time for questions and answers.

Who Should Attend?
This free web conference is designed for Individuals with lived experience, families, Professionals, PSR practitioners, researchers, teaching institutions, policy makers, and others who may have interest in the topic.

Learning Objectives:

1.  Learn about PSR/RPS Canada
2.  Define competence and its importance to practice  3.  Learn about the historical effort leading up to the development of the PSR Recovery-Orientated Practice Competencies  4.  Gain an awareness of PSR Recovery-Orientated Practice Competencies and Performance Indicators as they pertain to Psychosocial Rehabilitation Practices  5.  Learn about how to advance PSR Recovery-Orientated Practice Competencies in practice to facilitate recovery  6.  Participate in Q & A at the end of the presentation
