Regional Tertiary Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Services Review

Regional Tertiary Mental Health & Substance Use ProgramRegional Tertiary Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Services Review
Invitation to Family Supporters

The Regional Tertiary MHSU Program is currently conducting a review of tertiary services. “Tertiary” refers to a level of specialized services for adults and older adults living with complex mental illness and substance use disorders who need more support than what hospital or community mental health teams can provide. The Adult Tertiary Services that are included in this review are:

  • Rehabilitation Services: Willow Pavilion 2nd floor, Sumac Place, Storey’s Community Tertiary Rehabilitation, and Segal 4th floor Intensive Tertiary Rehab (ITR)
  • Assessment and Treatment (A&T) Services: Willow Pavilion 3rd & 4th floors
  • Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Teams

The purpose of the review is to:

  • Identify the needs of the tertiary client population
  • Identify gaps in current tertiary services
  • Identify barriers related to getting in and out of tertiary services
  • Provide recommendations to address identified gaps and barriers

As part of this review we would like to hear from family supporters of individuals who are currently accessing these services or have accessed these services in the recent past. We would like to hear about your experience with tertiary and what you think could be done to improve services for your relative.
