Summer 2018 Session with THRIVE

Submitted by May Chow, Recreation Therapist with the Thrive Program. . .

Are you 17-26 years of age, live in Vancouver or Richmond and receive mental health services?  Summer is just around the corner and the THRIVE program at Open Door Group is ready for the launch of Summer Sessions, a fun program designed to get youth and young adults (ages 17 to 26) living with mental health barriers, up and moving! Summer Sessions is a fun and free program that provides participants an opportunity to connect and socialize with their peers and experience the city and some of its amazing resources.

Every week there is a different activity to get involved in! Participants have the opportunity to get some hands on experience with our Make It! Program on Fridays, like making succulent holders and planters boxes in our woodworking program. Sweets more your thing? We will also be doing a Cookies and cupcakes to satisfy your sugar tooth. Thursdays will be filled with hiking, biking, kayaking and more in the great outdoors! If you feel like you just want to chill and hang out, we’ll be at the beach BBQing and playing bocce or discovering the awesome sites and activities that Vancouver has to offer.

Registration is open, please see our website for more information!

Deadline for forms is June 25th by 5pm so get your forms in as quickly as possible.

Space is limited and on a first come, first served basis.
