Tomorrow! Hearing Voices Study Club – Dec 7, 6-7 pm

This is a reminder that the new Hearing Voices Study Club will be meeting this Wednesday (December 7th) at Kitsilano Neighbourhood House in Vancouver, from 6-7 pm.

The Study Club is a social/discussion group that meets on the first Wednesday of the month to watch, read, or listen to media related to hearing voices and the Hearing Voices Movement. Light snacks will be served, and transit tickets are available for those in need. The venue is wheelchair accessible.

This month, we will be watching a short documentary about the MPA Society (Motivation, Power and Achievement Society; formerly the Mental Patients Association) and learning about Vancouver’s own local history of mental health consumer/survivor activism. The group is drop-in, and there is no need to RSVP.

Everyone with lived experience of voices, visions, or other unique sensory experiences or beliefs is welcome to attend.

Family members, friends, service providers, students, and others who are interested in learning more about hearing voices and the Hearing Voices Movement are also welcome!

The purpose of the group is to bring together different perspectives in conversation and reflection.
Drop in on Wednesday if you haven’t already, or spread the word if you know someone who might like to attend.
