Title: Resource Centre Assistant
Reports to: Resource Manager
Location: Kelty Dennehy Mental Health Resource Centre at the HOpe Centre, 1337 St Andrews Ave, North Vancouver.
Days and Hours of position: 1 -2 days per week for a min of 6 months
Position Summary: This is a key position, providing a friendly and professional welcome for clients and visitors alike; in essence, the face of CMHA at the KDMH Resource Centre. Secondary role is to provide clerical and administrative support to visitors seeking resources and various programs and events at our evolving Resource Centre.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Greets and directs and engages with visitors, volunteers and program participants, including those of other on-site partner agencies
Performs general reception duties including answering the phone, receiving and relaying messages and handling all enquiries (call-in, walk-in or e-mail requests)
Receives deliveries and donations; arranges courier services
Prepares materials and mail outs for various programs and events
Performs general administrative tasks, including word processing, data entry, filing and photocopying, as needed
Maintains inventory of educational and information materials in reception area; tracks distribution
Compiles reception-related statistics (e.g. drop-in clients, contacts, requests)
Ensures safety and general tidiness of the space
Performs other duties, as required

Able to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently
Qualifications:
Second language and crisis intervention/de-escalation training are assets
Basic competency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the Internet
Capacity to operate related office equipment (DVD player, projector, printer/fax)
Criminal Record clearance to work with children and vulnerable adults
