The UBC Interprofessional Health Mentors Program would like to recruit volunteers to be a part of this unique educational program in which teams of students from different health disciplines and human service programs learn together from / with adult patients/clients with a chronic condition or disability, or health mentors can be caregivers who provide long-term care to a loved one with a chronic condition/disability. The program will run from September 2022 to May 2023.
Beginning in fall 2022, student teams (4 students per team) will visit their mentor seven times (twice per term) over the course of 9 months, each visit focusing on specific topics. The Health Mentors program will help students learn about chronic disease and about the range of work involved in chronic disease self-management from the perspective of the patient and family.
If you feel like you would be a good mentor and would like to share your expertise with students, please consider applying to be a Health Mentor.
We will start reviewing applications from June 1, 2022 onwards for recruitment in September 2022. For more information and to apply, please visit https://meetingofexperts.org/programs-activities/health-mentors-program/.
